No Additional Sanctions For Booker T. Washington Athletics
Friday, November 13, 2009
The Board of Directors of the Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activities Association has announced there will be no additional sanctions against Booker T. Washington High School.
The OSSAA accepted the Tulsa Public Schools report along with the suspensions and forfeitures after it was revealed that four different Hornet teams -- volleyball, football, softball and cross country -- used ineligible players.
The defending Class 5A football champions were forced to forfeit three district wins that knocked them out of the playoffs. The program is also on warning status.
One of the wins -- a 90-0 blowout of Miami -- had to be given up because the team used sixteen players who were ineligible.
Head coach Antwain Jimmerson was also suspended for the remainder of the school year.
