Saturday, November 21, 2009

Tyler Brown threw for a pair of touchdowns and rushed for another as Berryhill advanced to the Class 3A semifinals with a 20-6 win at Blanchard Friday night.

Brown scored on a 7-yard run in the second quarter to give the Chiefs (10-2) a 7-0 lead at halftime.

Blanchard (8-4) got on the scoreboard in the third when John McCracken broke free on a 63-yard touchdown run. The extra point was missed, leaving the Chiefs ahead by one.

The fourth quarter belonged to Berryhill. Brown tossed a 27-yard TD pass to Aaron Dolan and a 9-yard strike to Tyler Johnson to give the Chiefs the win.

Berryhill allowed just 204 total yards and forced three turnovers -- all fumbles. The Chiefs will now face Dewey (8-4) for a shot at making the 3A title game.

Two weeks ago, Berryhill went to Dewey and came away with a 25-6 win over the Bulldoggers in the season finale.
