Union-Jenks To Be On FSN-Plus
Tuesday, December 01, 2009

Fox Sports has picked up the Class 6A championship game between Jenks and Union, which means some basic cable customers in Tulsa won't be able to view the game.

A Cox spokesperson tells NewsChannel 8 the game will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday night, which puts it at a time when Fox Sports Oklahoma will already be carrying the Oklahoma City Thunder basketball game.

That means the game will be placed on Fox Sports Plus, which is not normally carried on Cox. Cox has received permission to temporarily carry the channel to allow viewers to watch the game live.

But, the game will be broadcast on digital channel 610 or digital HD channel 710.

This will mark the first time the 6A championship game will be provided in high definition.

The Class 5A and 4A games will be carried on Fox Oklahoma while the 3A title game will be televised on the Cox Channel -- channel 3 in Tulsa or channel 7 in Oklahoma City.

Jenks won the regular season meeting 27-25 on September 11th. Union won the title game over the Trojans, 34-20 last season.
