Mossis Madu was born on November 4, 1987 in Bedford, Texas.
He was raised in Norman and played high school football at Norman High School, where he was a first team All-State and Class 6A All-Star by the Oklahoma Coaches Association and Second Team All-State by The Oklahoman and the Tulsa World as a senior in 2005 after setting four school records, including single-season total yardage (1,755) and completing the season with 1,513 yards and 25 touchdowns rushing.
At the University of Oklahoma, Madu played in 51 games in four seasons, rushing for 978 yards and nine touchdowns while adding 252 yards on 34 receptions.
He signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent in 2011 and played in nine games that season, rushing for 55 yards and catching 10 passes for 72 yards.
He later played in the Canadian Football League with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Ottawa Redblacks, winning a Grey Cup with the Redblacks in 2016. In four seasons with Ottawa, Madu rushed for 1,324 yards and six touchdowns.
Today, Madu is the running backs coach for Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School in Oklahoma City, where the Fighting Irish are 9-0 and ranked second in Class 5A.
