Stephen Alexander is a former tight end and defensive end at Chickasha, where he earned All-State honors following the 1993 football season. He was also twice named All-District Defensive Player of the Year, a USA Today and Blue Chip Illustrated All-American, and SuperPrep National Player of the Year.

He committed to OU and was a first-team All-Big 8 selection as a sophomore when he led the conference in both receptions (43) and yards (580) by a tight end. He ended his career with 104 catches and 1,591 yards to go with six touchdowns, also earning second-team All-Big 12 in 1997.

He was selected in the second round of the 1998 NFL Draft by the Washington Redskins and enjoyed a ten-year NFL career, playing for Washington, San Diego, Detroit and Denver, finishing his career with 247 receptions, 2,519 yards and 14 touchdowns, earning a Pro Bowl selection in 2000.
