Chris Penn is a former Lenapah, NEO A&M, University of Tulsa and NFL receiver.

Penn was born on April 20, 1971 in Lenapah. He was an honorable mention All-State selection as a senior in 1988 after leading the state in scoring with 31 touchdowns.

He had 70 catches for 1,610 yards and also had seven interceptions on defense in helping the Eagles go 8-3 and win District B-2.

He was just as good on the basketball court, averaging nearly 23 points per game in helping the Eagles reach the regional tournament.

Penn signed with Northeastern Oklahoma A&M, playing two seasons with the Norsemen before transferring to the University of Tulsa.

In 1991, he led the Hurricane with 37 catches for 792 yards and five touchdowns in helping TU go 10-2 and win the Freedom Bowl.

Penn's senior season at Tulsa was derailed by academics, but he returned a year later to put up an NCAA Division I best 105 catches, for 1,578 yards and 12 touchdowns, earning second-team All-American honors.

In 1994, Penn was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in the third round of the NFL Draft. He played in eight games as a rookie, making three catches for 24 yards. It wasn't until two seasons later that he caught on, starting all 16 games while making 49 catches for 628 yards and five touchdowns.

In 1997, the Chiefs traded him to the Chicago Bears, where he spent two seasons, making 78 catches for 1,024 yards and six touchdowns.

He finished his career in San Diego in 1999, catching 17 passes for 257 yards and a touchdown. In 70 career NFL games, he caught 148 passes for 1,945 yards and 12 touchdowns.
