Leon Crosswhite is a former Hennessey, University of Oklahoma and NFL running back.

Born April 28, 1951 in Hennessey, Crosswhite was an All-State alternate as a senior at after scoring nine touchdowns for the 7-3 Eagles.

He also played basketball and baseball at Hennessey.

Crosswhite signed with the University of Oklahoma and played fullback in the Sooners' wishbone formation from 1970 to 1973, earning second-team All-Big 8 in 1971 and first-team in 1972, when he rushed for 614 yards and four touchdowns.

In three seasons with the Sooners, Crosswhite rushed for 1,848 yards and nine touchdowns.

In 1973, Crosswhite was selected by the Detroit Lions in the second round of the NFL Draft. He played in 21 games for the Lions over two seasons, rushing for 79 yards and two touchdowns.

He was traded to the New England Patriots in 1975, but suffered a leg injury and was placed on injured reserve before the season started.

Crosswhite returned to Oklahoma, went into business, married in 1974 and his son, Patrick, played at Hennessey in the early 2000s.
