Curtis Lofton is a former Kingfisher, University of Oklahoma and NFL linebacker.

Lofton was born June 2, 1986 in Kingfisher and was a three-year starter at Kingfisher, playing fullback and linebacker. He was an All-State selection as a junior, helping the Yellowjackets win the 2003 state championship, making a class-leading 186 tackles and earning The Oklahoman's Little All-City Defensive Player of the Year award.

He followed it up with 168 tackles as a senior, earning All-State honors again and also being named a Parade All-American in helping Kingfisher advance to the semifinals. He finished his high school career with a whopping 505 tackles.

He also participated in basketball and track and field at Kingfisher, finishing second at the state meet in the 100-meters with a time of 10-point-73 seconds.

Recruited by dozens of colleges, Lofton chose to sign with the University of Oklahoma, where he had a breakout season in 2007, earning Consensus All-American honors and being named the AP Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year after making 157 tackles, 10 for losses, one sack and three interceptions.

Lofton entered the NFL Draft in 2008 and was selected by the Atlanta Falcons with the 37th overall pick in the second round. He went on to have a spectacular rookie season, starting 15 games, making 94 tackles, 4 for losses, a sack and forcing a fumble. He earned the Defensive Rookie of the Year by the Pro Football Writers of America.

In an eight-year NFL career, Lofton played for the Falcons, New Orleans Saints and Oakland Raiders, recording 948 tackles, 42 for losses, eight sacks, 11 forced fumbles, five fumble recoveries and three interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown in Atlanta's 2011 regular season finale against Tampa Bay.

After his football career, Lofton returned to Oklahoma and to the Sooners, where he was selected by head coach Brent Venables to lead a player development program called Serving Our Uncommon Legacy (S.O.U.L.) Mission.

He also served as general manager of the football team in 2024 before resigning to pursue ministry.
