Vickey Ray Anderson is a former Classen, University of Oklahoma and NFL running back.
Anderson was born on May 3, 1956 in Oklahoma City and attended Classen High School, where he was an All-State selection as a senior after averaging nine yards per carry, including a 239-yard, three-touchdown performance in a game against Edmond.
Anderson signed with Oklahoma and earned a pair of national championships with the Sooners in 1974 and 1975. Playing in the same backfield as Kenny King and Billy Sims, Anderson found running opportunities hard to come by, but finished with 302 yards and a 4-point-1 yards per carry average.
He went undrafted in 1979, but signed with the New Orleans Saints, but failed to make the team. He then went to the Canadian Football League, playing a season with the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 1979.
He returned to the NFL in 1980 as a member of the Green Bay Packers, appearing in seven games that season. In 1983, he joined the USFL's New Jersey Generals, appearing in five games and scoring on a receiving touchdown in the season finale.
