One of the state's top athletes is narrowing in on his college destination.

Kamieon Compton-Nero, a junior multi-position athlete at Owasso, announced Friday he has trimmed is list of scholarship offers from 28 to 15.

"Beyond grateful for all the schools and coaches that believed in who I can be," he said in a social media post announcing the list. "Starting the process of narrowing it down to find (home)."

Those who made the 15 are Alabama, Florida, Kansas State, LSU, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Oregon, SMU, Tennessee, Texas A&M and Texas Tech.

Compton-Nero recently announced his transfer to Owasso from Rejoice Christian, where he helped lead the Eagles to back-to-back state championships.

Last season, Compton-Nero had 3,335 all-purpose yards and accounted for 49 touchdowns. He also earned All-State honors on the defensive side of the ball where he had 95 tackles and five interceptions -- two of which were returned for touchdowns.

He is also a very accomplished basketball player.

Just a junior, Compton-Nero has plenty of time to make a decision. He and the Rams will begin the season on August 28th at home with a state championship rematch against the Bixby Spartans.
